Tomorrow is an important anniversary for me. On 21st December 2006, I was told I had cancer. I vowed then that when - not if - I reached the five year anniversary of being cancer-free, I'd do something I'd always wanted to do. And what I've always wanted to do is to see the Northern Lights before I die.
20th January 2012 is the fifth anniversary of my post-treatment check-ups so, in February 2012, I'm heading to Finnish Lapland with a friend who was my neighbour in my pre-cancer existence. We've both had a desire to chase the lights for many years. On 7th February, we're on our way to start that hunt. We may not be successful, but we're going to give it our best attempt.
